Day 43: Hamburg to Canandaigua NY

Hello again LR12 followers. Today was another amazing ride in up-state NY. The WX was perfect; what else can I say. Instead of boring you with words, these few photos show what we experienced to day on our 95 mile ride from Hamburg to Canandaigua. Very enjoyable even with 4300' of climbing.

Smooth roads, wide shoulders, little traffic, blue sky and light winds......

We also crossed another milestone. I can't believe we've come so far and its getting a little sad that we have less than a week to go. :(

We had the opportunity to see two Amish farmers bailing a straw or hay field. Its incredible that their subsistence and way of life is accomplished with these basic tools and horsepower. Quite a commitment. Makes you consider what is really important.

We have two women riders on the tour, Pat and Cindy, that live in this area and are avid sky divers. Somehow they persuaded two of our British riders, Nick and John to come out to their local sky diving airport and go for a tandem jump. Well, Michele and I had to go see what all this was about so after the ride we drove out to Ovid Airport. Here are some photo's that try to capture the pre-jump situation.

Unfortunately, things were delayed a little and Michele and I had to leave but I'm sure we'll hear the news tomorrow morning about Nick and John's great adventure. Stay tuned, I'm sure there will be some very interesting stories.
